Breeding Program
Doberman Stud Services
GuardianKin Kennels offers professional Doberman stud services with health-tested, AKC registered males. Our studs have undergone comprehensive genetic testing including DCM, vWD, DM, and color testing, along with regular cardio exams (echocardiograms), Holter monitoring, OFA hip and elbow evaluations, and thyroid testing. Available for live cover or shipped cooled semen nationwide. Read the policies below carefully before submitting an inquiry.
Eligibility Requirements
Our studs are only available for other dogs of the same breed with AKC papers. No exceptions.
A negative brucellosis test dated within the last 6 months is required for all females using our studs. We will provide one for our stud as well.
Payment & Deposit Policy
A 25% deposit is required to book a stud. This fee is NOT refundable.
The remaining 75% is due upon ultrasound confirmation, which must be completed by day 35.
Rebreed Policy
All of our studs come with the option for a rebreed should the pairing not result in puppies that are born alive.
The breeding can be switched to a different female if the original female fails to take or produce live puppies. Only one rebreed will be offered.
Live Cover vs. Shipped Cooled Semen
Studs are available for live cover or shipped cooled semen.
Shipped cooled requires the buyer to cover the actual cost of collecting the sample and shipping overnight. These costs are NOT included as part of the stud fee and are the buyer's responsibility.
Typically a shipped cooled semen sample will cost around $400 with shipping and collection costs. These costs can go up and down depending on factors outside of our control.
In the case of rebreeds, shipped semen costs for collection and shipping still apply even if no pregnancy or live puppies result. Only the breeding fee itself will be waived.
Multi-Female Kennel Discounts
We offer discounts for those choosing our studs to breed more than one dog at their kennel in a calendar year:
- 25% discount for 2 females booked in the same calendar year
- 40% discount for 3 or more females booked in the same calendar year
This applies regardless of whether the females are booked at the same time.
Alternative Payment Options
We do sometimes accept first pick or second & third pick of litter in lieu of the breeding fee. This is considered case-by-case depending on our kennel's needs and the female being bred.
We may also from time to time consider a direct trade of a non-related puppy or adult in lieu of the breeding fee. We would only consider this type of trade on dogs who have genetic testing for: vWD, DCM 1–4, DM, DINGS, and color testing. If your dog is not at minimum DNA tested for these issues, we would not be interested in any trade.
Booking Lead Time
We cannot accommodate last-minute stud requests. Stud bookings should be made no less than 30 days before the stud is needed.
If your female is currently in heat and you are looking for a stud, we will not be able to accommodate you.
