Waitlist Information
CURRENT AVERAGE WAITLIST TIME: 4.5 MONTHS
GuardianKin Kennels maintains a waiting list for potential clients which helps us determine pairings based on what the client is interested in. By joining the waitlist a client will place a non refundable deposit down and fill out a form telling us what you are looking for in your next companion including breed, size, color, and wait training level you need. We lock our waitlist to a maximum of 40 persons. Which is approximately 2 years of waiting maximum depending on breed. We will talk with all waitlist clients before accepting their deposit to ensure that we can meet their needs in a dog. Once added to the wait list you will receive a number that corresponds to the number in line you are and a general estimate of how long you can expect to wait for the dog you are looking for. If you are looking for rarer colors like a white doberman the wait time will be much longer then if you are looking for more common colors. After each litter is placed wait list clients that did not receive a puppy will get a new number as their position in line moves up.
The benefit of being on the wait list is:
- Waitlist clients get an average savings of $200-400 over non waitlisted customers on the final cost of their puppy.
- Waitlisted clients are far more likely to get their choice of gender, color, and size than a non wait list client.
- Waitlist clients are given priority in all contacts regarding puppies.
- Waitlist clients are notified of planned litters and litters as they are born.
- Waitlist clients receive frequent updates as litters progress and are the first to get to chose puppies, based on their number in line.
Waitlist Doberman puppies are $2000 if picked up at 8 weeks.
Waitlist Doberman puppies in our head start program are $2700.
Waitlist Dobermans in our foundations program are $4000.
It is $500 to be placed on the wait list, this deposit is non refundable but is taken off the total price of the chosen puppy.
How the waitlist works:
- Client fills out the puppy questionnaire and is vetted by GuardianKin.
- If approved client signs the waitlist contract and remits the $500 holding deposit.
- Client receives their current waitlist # and estimated waiting time.
- Please note that the waiting time estimate does not represent a guaranteed time frame and is only intended as a rough estimate.
- Each time a litter is planned or upcoming waitlist participants will receive an email notifying them.
- When a litter is born the waitlist members at the top of the list will be notified and polled to see if they are ready to receive a puppy from the litter.
- Should a waitlist member at the top of the list reply they are NOT ready to receive a puppy from the litter they will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist.
- We will cycle through the waitlist until we have 1 ready waitlist member per puppy in the litter that matches the color and gender requirements of the client.
- Waitlist members that are ready to receive a puppy will be kept up to date on the litter.
- We will match puppies with their final waitlist members at 6-7 weeks old based on the compatibility of each puppy to the waitlist clients questionnaires.
- The ready waitlist members will then be matched to their puppy and have a final chance to reject the puppy before locking their deposit to the puppy.
- If a waitlist member approves the match and locks their deposit to the puppy the waitlist member MUST take their puppy or forfeit their deposit.
- THE ONLY exception is if we decide that the match is not viable before the puppy is 8 weeks of old or if we cannot provide the chosen puppy. In this case and only this case a waitlist member can chose to return to the top of the waitlist OR receive a refund for their deposit.
- If a waitlist member approves the match and locks their deposit to the puppy the waitlist member MUST take their puppy or forfeit their deposit.
- Client picks up their puppy at 8 weeks (12 weeks for the head start program or 16 weeks for the foundations program).
